Whew, we made it through our first weekend of a ‘soft’ opening. You of course knew that our doors were unlocked last weekend (a benefit of being a savy blog reader), but our official answer to “When are you opening?” has been March 1st – which is today!
First of all, THANK YOU for showing up. We had incredible crowds of people and many friends there with us. Your support has been overwhelming. In case you haven’t come over yet, we do have the menu listed online at http://www.esquinalawrence.com. And at risk of appearing to be like a back-pedaling politican, I need to ammend the hours of operation I sent out earlier. We have decided to initially be open daily at 5 PM to insure that we meet (and hopefully exceed) your expectations.
We can’t wait to come and try out your new place. I am salivating just looking at the menu and pics. Congrats on your “new baby”!
Molly! It looks amazing. I miss Lawrence. I can’t wait to visit.
Love, Jen
Visited Esquina on Sunday. Those were the best tacos I’ve ever had in KS for sure! I can’t wait to go back.
Glad I read this! Adam and I were hoping to make it there today for our weekly lunch date but I guess we’ll have to change that!
Hope to make it through soon. We cant wait!
We are bringing our family to for dinner at your new restaurant to celebrate our son’s 22 birthday on Tuesday, March 9th. Do you take reservations? We will have 5-6 in our party.
Sorry, we don’t take reservations but tables have been turning over pretty quickly – especially if you come at an off-peak time.
So excited to see Esquina is finally open! Fish and shrimp tacos on Mass – its like you read my diary! My wife and I will definitely be coming in this week for our first try.
And if its anything like The Burger Stand at Dempsey’s this will quickly become one of our new favorites!
Best of luck and congrats,
Brad
Came in last night after we checked out the menu online and realized we could afford to come out to Esquina whenver the urge struck and it didn’t have to be just for a special occassion. We weren’t sure what to expect after having such an incredible meal at the Krause home.
The food and ambience are excellent~
The fish tacos were my favorite, but the pork, shrimp, and strangely, the potato tacos were great as well. The chips have an awesome flavor (must be cooked with lime juice and seasoning, or something!)
We had a server come over when she noticed we were done and sell us on dessert~ we opted for the Spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate with Chipolte Mallows (definitely recommend this) and the dulce cookies, which were small and rich.
Next time we come, we are trying the cocktails, salad, and tequila cheese dip!
